Polish PM wants to “repolonize” the economy. What does that even mean? | The Bottom Line

The Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, announced during a recent policy speech that he wants to promote Polish interests in the economy. But what does it even mean now that Poland is a part of the European single market? According to Ignacy Morawski, deputy editor in chief of “Puls Biznesu”, an economic daily in Poland, this really amounts to industrial policy. And he points out that the number of these types of interventions has been growing over the past couple of years, so Tusk’s declaration is simply sticking with a wider trend.
