– Romanian hard-right candidate George Simion was ahead in a presidential election first round, followed by centrist candidates Crin Antonescu and Nicușor Dan neck and neck in second, an exit poll showed on Sunday.

– Poland has seen a spate of attacks on healthcare workers. After Tuesday’s deadly assault on a Polish doctor, four more such incidents took place, one against a nurse and three against doctors and paramedics. In response to the attacks, medical workers announced they would take to the streets of Warsaw on May 10th in a silent protest against violence.

– Russia has launched another drone attack on the Ukrainian capital last night. At least 11 people were wounded, including two children.
